After the incident, the injured girl was admitted to the government hospital immediately for medical care, where she underwent treatment.
Meanwhile, prompt action by family members rescued Hasini from the vicious dog attack. After the incident, the victim’s family expressed concern, sought accountability, and asked government officials about their responsibility in addressing the serious issue. The victim’s father, Venkata Ramana, said, “Today, stray dogs have bitten my daughter, and she has been hospitalized. Officials should take immediate measures to address the stray dog menace.”.
According to the World Health Organization, India accounts for 36% of the global deaths due to rabies and 65% of the deaths due to rabies in the Southeast Asia region. India has around 60 million stray dogs, according to government sources.
