IMD Issues Cold-Wave and Rainfall Alert For Several States
The IMD predicted that dense to very dense fog conditions will occur over the states of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Bihar in today's night and morning hours until January 31, 2024.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted severe cold-day conditions will continue to prevail in the western Himalayan region for the next 4 days. The IMD has predicted snowfall over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand today, while moderate to widespread rainfall or snowfall can be expected from January 29 until February 1, 2024.
The IMD predicted that dense to very dense fog conditions will occur over the states of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Bihar in today’s night and morning hours until January 31, 2024. In addition to that, the western disturbance is likely to bring rainfall over Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh from January 31 until February 2, 2024.
In fact, several flights are running very late at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi as dense fog played havoc with air traffic for much of today. In addition to that, several passengers at New Delhi Railway Station have faced difficulties as many trains are running off-schedule due to bad weather conditions.
