Madhya Pradesh’s new Congress chief, Jitu Patwari, held a meeting with party workers on Sunday. They met to decide the strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Deliberations were made on how to strengthen the organization ahead of the polls. The Patwari instructed the workers on how to reach out to the public.
Earlier this month, Congress central leadership removed Kamal Nath as its Madhya Pradesh chief and appointed Jitu Patwari in this position.
The election results in four states, especially the losses in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, came as a huge blow to the Congress’s hopes for 2024.
Because the grand old party is now out of power across a vast swathe of the Hindi heartland. Especially in Madhya Pradesh, nobody thought that the BJP would retain power.
But the saffron party won a whopping 166 seats, and Congress bagged just 66 seats. This is in stark contrast to what many of the pollsters predicted.
