Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has publicly acknowledged that it was a mistake to have his wife, Sunetra Pawar, contest against his cousin, Supriya Sule, in the Baramati Lok Sabha elections. In a recent interview, he expressed regret over the decision made by the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) parliamentary board, stating that politics should not intrude into personal relationships.
Ajit Pawar emphasized the importance of keeping politics separate from family matters, saying, “I love all my sisters. One shouldn’t allow politics to enter homes.” He admitted that fielding Sunetra against Supriya was a misstep and reflected on the decision, noting that it should not have occurred. He reiterated that while the parliamentary board made the choice, he now believes it was wrong to proceed in that manner.
