The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced its decision to contest all 36 seats in Mumbai for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. Preeti Sharma Menon, AAP’s Mumbai president, confirmed this during a press conference, emphasizing that AAP is part of the opposition INDI alliance, which will remain intact for the Lok Sabha elections and continue at the national level.
Menon stated, “The AAP will contest all 36 seats in Mumbai. In the rest of Maharashtra, our colleagues and volunteers are galvanised and preparations are on in full swing.” She highlighted AAP’s growth as a national party under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, noting its governance in Delhi and Punjab, as well as representation in Goa and Gujarat.
Menon criticized the current government, alleging that the BJP is anti-Maharashtra and accused the Eknath Shinde administration of corruption. She asserted that AAP offers a viable alternative for the people of Maharashtra, promoting a development model that emphasizes quality education, healthcare, and essential services without corruption or debt.
