We Fixed Issues, Mahayuti Will Win Maha Assembly Elections: Devendra Fadnavis
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis has expressed optimism about the ruling Mahayuti alliance's prospects in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis has expressed optimism about the ruling Mahayuti alliance’s prospects in the upcoming Assembly elections. In an interview with Mumbai Tak’s Baithak event, Fadnavis stated that the alliance has resolved internal issues and is well-positioned to secure victory.
“We have fixed the issues that were bothering the people about the Mahayuti alliance. We have fixed things which were challenging us in the Assembly. We will win in the Assembly elections,” Fadnavis said.
The Mahayuti alliance, comprising Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, the BJP, and the Nationalist Congress Party of Ajit Pawar, is gearing up for the state polls. Fadnavis dismissed the notion that the same factors that worked for the Opposition in the Lok Sabha elections would be effective in the Assembly elections.
The BJP has put Fadnavis in charge of seat-sharing negotiations with its allies, as the party prepares for its first pre-poll alliance with the undivided NCP, a former rival. The Mahayuti alliance’s recent victory in the Maharashtra Legislative Council elections, where all nine candidates fielded by the ruling coalition won, has boosted the morale of the alliance.
As the state gears up for the Assembly polls, the Mahayuti alliance is expected to launch a massive campaign blitzkrieg, with top leaders of the three parties criss-crossing the state. Ajit Pawar has already begun his campaign from Baramati.
While the opposition Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition is currently ahead in terms of Lok Sabha trends, the Mahayuti alliance is confident of retaining power in the state. The upcoming Assembly elections are sure to be a closely watched contest, with both alliances vying for victory.
