YS Sharmila Will Take Charge As AP Congress Chief On January 21

YS Sharmila will take charge as the president of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee on Sunday, January 21, 2024. Meanwhile, Sharmila was appointed as the APCC Chief by the Congress party recently. According to party sources, a grand event will be joined by Manikkam Tagore, in charge of Andhra Pradesh affairs at the AICC, and other senior leaders in the state.

Earlier this month, YS Sharmila joined Congress after merging her party, the YSR Telangana Party, into the Congress party. Sharmila joined Congress in the presence of Congress national chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and other senior leaders, including the general secretary, KC Venugopal. Interestingly, Sharmila is likely to face off with her brother, CM Jagan, in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

In addition to that, Sharmila said that after joining the Congress party, she stressed that her father, the late CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy, not only served the Congress party his entire life but also gave his life serving the party. Sharmila also stressed that she will perform her role with loyalty, integrity, and diligence, whatever role the Congress party will give her.
