The Indian Navy received INS Imphal, a stealth-guided missile destroyer built as part of Project 15B, into service. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh of the Union described the vessel as a brilliant example of ‘Aatmanirbharta’ in the field of defence.
He claimed that some forces became envious and hostile as India’s economic and strategic might increased. The ship has a displacement of 7,400 tons and dimensions of 163 meters in length and 17 meters in width.
“INS Imphal is a representation of India’s expanding sea might. It will get stronger still. In the Indo-Pacific area, it will strengthen our tenet of “Jalmev Yasya, Balmev Tasya” (One Who Controls the Sea is All Powerful),” Rajnath continued.
This ship is one of the most powerful warships India has ever produced. It is driven by four strong gas turbines that are arranged in a combined gas and gas arrangement. This can reach speeds of more than thirty knots.
