Kerala High Court Seeks Pinarayi Vijayan’s Response In Corruption Case
The Kerala High Court on Tuesday ordered to send notices to CM Pinarayi Vijayan and his daughter T Veena in a petition filed by Congress leader Mathew Kuzhalnadan, accusing them of corruption.
The Kerala High Court on Tuesday ordered to send notices to CM Pinarayi Vijayan and his daughter T Veena in a petition filed by Congress leader Mathew Kuzhalnadan, accusing them of corruption.
On Tuesday, the Director General of Prosecution questioned the petition, but the court, after hearing both parties, directed that notifications be given to CM Vijayan and Veena and scheduled the case for July 2.
After the hearing, Mathew addressed the media, saying that this is standard procedure and that the case will now be heard in detail, which we will await.
The leader of the opposition, VD Satheesan, stated that the Congress fully supported Mathew Kuzhalnadan’s legal battle. Mathew sought the High Court after a vigilance court denied his request for a court-monitored investigation into charges of corruption against the CM and his daughter.
He had requested an investigation by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department into claims that Veena Vijayan’s IT business, Exalogic, received monthly payments from a Kochi-based mining concern, Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd (CMRL), for mining sanctions.
Several authorities, including the ED, SFIO, and IT Department, have recorded many people’s comments, with the exception of Veena in this case. The Congress leader brought up the case last year, citing an IT Settlement Board declaration indicating Exalogic earned ₹1.72 crore from CMRL.
