Congress Leaders Decline Ayodhya Ram Mandir Prana Pratishtha Invitations
Congress called the Ram Temple inauguration an event of the BJP and RSS. Congress leaders turned down the invitation for the 'Prana Pratishtha' ceremony of Lord Ram Lalla.
Congress leaders turned down the invitation for the ‘Prana Pratishtha’ ceremony of Lord Ram Lalla. The ceremony is scheduled for later this month in Ayodhya.
The senior Congress leaders—Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury—declined the invitation for the grand pran pratishta event. The party’s general secretary, Jairam Ramesh, said the same in a statement released on Wednesday.
“Lord Ram is worshipped by millions in our country. Religion is a personal matter. But the RSS and BJP made a political project of the temple. The inauguration of the incomplete temple by the leaders of the BJP and the RSS is obviously brought forward for electoral gain.
We are abiding by the 2019 Supreme Court judgment and honoring the sentiments of millions who revere Lord Ram. But Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury have respectfully declined the invitation to what is clearly an RSS/BJP event,” it added.
