Traffic restrictions have been imposed in Bengaluru for the Town Hall festival on Wednesday. The Bengaluru Traffic Police have set specific limits for heavy goods vehicles in the areas of Gunjur, Balagere, Gunjur Palya, and Vinayaka Nagar to facilitate smooth vehicular movement during the Deepotsava and Pallakki events. Heavy vehicles coming from Hoskote are advised to turn left at Hope Farm and proceed towards Sarjapura via Channasandra. Trucks from HAL Old Airport Road should reroute through Varthur Kodi, Hope Farm, and Channasandra towards Sarjapura. Similarly, heavy vehicles from Sarjapura are directed to use Chikkathirupathi, Dommasandra, and Kodathi to reach Bellandur. Vehicles from Bellandur should travel via Kodathi and Dommasandra towards Sarjapura. Additionally, buses operating from Gunjur Depo-41 to Varthur are instructed to use Nerege Road, Hosahalli, and Madhura Nagara for their route to Varthur.
Commuters are requested to follow these restrictions to ensure smooth traffic flow during the festival and minimize disruptions. In a separate development, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has commenced a significant white-topping project on roads stretching from Rajajinagar 1st Block to Dr. Rajkumar Road. This project will result in a complete ban on all vehicular movement along this route for at least five months. The upgrade is expected to enhance the quality of Bengaluru’s road infrastructure, addressing long-standing issues and improving overall traffic conditions in the city.
