Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the Union Cabinet has approved the National Centre of Excellence (NCoE) in Mumbai, dedicated to “Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality.”
Operating as a Section 8 company under the Companies Act, 2013, the NCoE aims to bolster India’s soft power and attract foreign investments to the media and entertainment sector.

The Indian Institute for Immersive Creators (IIIC) will offer cutting-edge infrastructure and technology, focusing on immersive technologies. It will provide specialized training in virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and 3D modeling and animation.
