Pakistan: Rising Rates Of Sexual Violence Against Women In Lahore
In Pakistan's Lahore, there has been an increase in the number of sexual assaults on women. The Gender Crime Cell was unable to make any meaningful progress in apprehending the accused in at least 854 cases that occurred in the first eleven months of this year, according to the Pakistani Urdu publication Nai Baat. Police data indicates that in the first eleven months of this year, 711 cases of sexual assault on women took place in six Lahore divisions, according to Nai Baat.

Division (241 instances), and second place goes to the Sadar Division (197 cases) in terms of sexual violence against women. Third place went to Model Town Division with 139 incidents, followed by Iqbal Town Division in fourth place with 57 incidents, Civil Lines Division in fifth place with 52 incidents, and City Division in sixth place with 45 incidents. First and second place went to City Division and Sadar Division, respectively, with eight cases of widespread sexual assault on women and young girls. Cant Division and Civil Lines Division came in fifth and sixth place with three incidents each; Model Town Division came in third place with six incidents; and Iqbal Town Division came in fourth place with four occurrences. Sadar Division leads the country with 30 incidences of sexual assault against young girls. Second and third place, with 22 incidents each, go to Cant. Division and Model Town Division. Positions four through six were held by the Iqbal Town Division (20 occurrences), the City Division (12 incidents), and the Civil Lines Division (5 incidents). In the early part of this past week, locals in Ratodero town, Larkana district, Sindh province, Pakistan, set fire to the wheat scarcity facility of a farmer who permitted his daughter to study and ride a motorcycle to school with her brothers. The incident occurred on Sunday within the boundaries of the Lashari police station in Zangeja village, according to those reports.
