Imran Khan’s spouse has been called before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) regarding the Toshakhana issue. Imran Khan is the head of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Bushra Bibi has reportedly received a notice from the NAB Rawalpindi. Her summons for the Toshakhana case were issued by the NAB on December 11 at 11:00 a.m. (local time). In relation to the Toshakhana case, Bushra Bibi has also been asked by NAB to bring the gold necklace, diamond ring, and bracelet. The Exit Control List (ECL) was updated earlier by the caretaker administration in Pakistan, citing sources. Bushra Bibi’s name was included. Citing sources close to the development, the ECL has brought up Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in relation to the £190 million scandal involving the National Crime Agency (NCA). On the NAB’s advice, her name was added to the ECL. In addition to the two rings, the earrings, the bracelet, the chain, and the pendant from the Toshakhana gifts are allegedly belonging to Bushra Bibi. Furthermore, it is alleged that she has kept a bracelet, necklace, earrings, and rings made of gold and diamonds. NAB claims that the presents were not given to the Toshakhana in order to determine their cost. After Imran Khan was disqualified by the Pakistani Election Commission for making “false statements and incorrect declarations,” the Toshakhana issue gained prominence in the country’s politics. The PTI chairman is accused of withholding information about gifts he accepted from the Toshakhana while serving as prime minister of Pakistan, according to a reference submitted by members of the coalition that was in power at the time in 2022. Imran Khan was later given bail by the Islamabad High Court, which also suspended his conviction. However, in the cipher case, a special court mandated that Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan, remain in detention. Imran Khan, meanwhile, has challenged the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision to disqualify him for five years in a petition submitted to the Lahore High Court (LHC), Dawn said. In the petition, the ECP was listed as a reply. The court was requested to deem the notification disqualifying Imran Khan “unlawful, illegal, and unconstitutional,” Dawn said. This was the election watchdog’s call.
