Revanth Reddy Challenges BJP’s 400-Seat Ambition in 2024 Lok Sabha Elections
Telangana Chief Minister and State Congress Chief A. Revanth Reddy shared his insights on the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) prospects in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Reddy confidently predicted that the BJP would struggle to secure more than 214 to 240 seats in the upcoming elections, challenging the party's ambitious target of 400 seats.
In a recent interview on Rajat Sharma’s show “Aap Ki Adalat,” Telangana Chief Minister and State Congress Chief A. Revanth Reddy shared his insights on the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) prospects in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Reddy confidently predicted that the BJP would struggle to secure more than 214 to 240 seats in the upcoming elections, challenging the party’s ambitious target of 400 seats.
Reddy’s prediction is based on the BJP’s performance in the southern states, where the party has traditionally faced challenges in expanding its presence. In the southern region, which comprises 130 Lok Sabha seats, Reddy expects the BJP to win a maximum of 12 to 15 seats, with the majority of seats going to the INDIA bloc.
In the context of Kerala, Reddy expressed his belief that the BJP would not even secure their deposits in the state’s 20 Lok Sabha seats. The Congress, on the other hand, is expected to win all 20 seats in the state, according to Reddy’s prediction.
In Telangana, Reddy anticipates the Congress to secure 14 of the state’s 17 seats, while the BJP is likely to struggle due to the ongoing crisis within the ruling BRS party. The BJP has recorded a significant increase in its vote share in Telangana, but it still lags behind the BRS and Congress in terms of seat share.
Reddy’s predictions contrast with the forecasts made by poll strategist Prashant Kishor, who has predicted a significant rise for the BJP in South and East India, including a potential victory in Odisha and a strong performance in Telangana. However, Reddy remains confident in his assessment, emphasizing that the BJP’s 400-seat target is unrealistic and aimed at creating a perception in “WhatsApp University.”
In summary, Revanth Reddy has challenged the BJP’s 400-seat ambition in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, predicting that the party will struggle to secure more than 214 to 240 seats. Reddy’s predictions are based on the BJP’s performance in the southern states, where the party has historically faced challenges in expanding its presence.
