Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K Kavitha, who was recently granted bail by the Supreme Court in the Delhi excise policy case, met her father and former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at his residence in Erravelli on Thursday. The emotional reunion came just days after Kavitha walked out of Delhi’s Tihar Jail, where she had been incarcerated for over five months.
During the meeting, Kavitha sought her father’s blessings, as is customary in Indian culture. K Chandrasekhar Rao, visibly moved by his daughter’s return, welcomed her with traditional rituals at his home. The BRS leader expressed her gratitude for the support she received from her family and party workers during her ordeal.
In a social media post on the platform X, Kavitha shared a powerful message, stating “Satyameva Jayate,” which translates to “Truth Alone Triumphs” in Sanskrit. This sentiment echoes her earlier proclamation upon her release, where she vowed to “return with interest” to those who put her family through this ordeal.
The Supreme Court had granted Kavitha bail on strict conditions, including the surrender of her passport and regular attendance at trial proceedings. The apex court questioned the evidence presented by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) against Kavitha, noting that the investigation was complete and the chargesheet had been filed.
Kavitha’s emotional reunion with her father and the BRS party’s unwavering support underscore the political nature of her arrest and incarceration. As she embarks on her journey to prove her innocence, Kavitha’s determination to fight on both legal and political fronts remains steadfast.
