Researchers found traces of psychedelic substances, bodily fluids, and alcohol in a 2,000-year-old mug, revealing that ancient Egyptians consumed hallucinogenic drinks during rituals. This marks first detection of chemical signatures in Bes-shaped vessels, which were used for fertility, protection, and healing. Few such mugs have survived, adding to their archaeological significance.
