At 10.30 am, the Sensex lost 555 points and is trading at 70,514.81 points, and the Nifty lost 143 points and is trading at 21,310.80 points.
Shares of Hindalco Industries, Dr. Reddy's Lab and IndusInd Bank ended as the top gainers in the Nifty 50 index.
At 10.10 am, the Sensex gained 330 points and is trading at 70,700.28 points, and the Nifty gained 107 points and is trading at 21,345.70 points.
By closing time, the Sensex lost 1,053 points and stood at 70,370.55 points, and the Nifty 50 lost 333 points and stood at 21,238.80 points.
Meanwhile, the Indian rupee is trading at 83.12 against the US dollar today.
At least 43 stocks ended with gains, while the remaining 7 stocks ended lower in the Nifty 50 index. Shares of ONGC, Bharti Airtel, and NTPC ended as the top gainers in the Nifty 50 index.
