CLOSING BELL: Stock Market Ended With Huge Gains Today

The Indian domestic stock market ended with huge gains today, January 24, 2024. By closing time, the Sensex gained 690 points and stood at 71,060.31 points, and the Nifty gained 215 points and stood at 21,454.04 points. However, the Indian rupee stood at 83.12 against the dollar today.

Meanwhile, Nifty 50 opened at 21,185.25 against the previous close of 21,238.80 and touched its intraday high and low of 21,482.35 and 21,137.20, respectively, during the session. At least 43 stocks ended with gains, while the remaining 7 stocks ended lower in the Nifty 50 index.

Shares of Hindalco Industries, Dr. Reddy’s Lab and IndusInd Bank ended as the top gainers in the Nifty 50 index. Meanwhile, the shares of ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and Asian Paints have ended up as the top losers in the Nifty 50 index.

In the same way, the BSE Sensex opened at 70,165.49 against the previous close of 70,370.55 and touched its intraday high and low of 71,149.61 and 70,001.60 respectively. However, the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices outperformed the benchmark, jumping 2% each.
