Union Minister Piyush Goyal announced the launch of the “Bharat” brand of rice, which will retail for Rs 29 per kilogram. At a ceremony in the nation’s capital, Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution, introduced the sale of rice. On the other hand, 5 kg and 10 kg packages of rice under the “Bharat” brand are available.
During the program, Piyush Goyal launched 100 mobile vans through which the rice could be made available to consumers in the national capital. Goyal stressed that the ‘Bharat’ rice will be available at mobile vans of Kendriya Bhandar, the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India (NCCF), and the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED).
Piyush Goyal stressed that the central government is committed to the welfare of farmers as well as the people of the nation. Goyal also said that the launch of the sale of ‘Bharat’ rice will hike the supply in the market at affordable rates, and it is the biggest and latest step taken by the central government towards the welfare of the people of our country.
