Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), is currently in Delhi for a three-day visit, which began on August 6. The primary focus of this visit is a strategic meeting with Congress leaders, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and prominent figures Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. This meeting is particularly significant as it comes ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections, scheduled for October 2024.
During this visit, Thackeray is expected to engage in discussions with various leaders of the INDIA bloc, which includes parties such as the Trinamool Congress. Sanjay Raut, a senior leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), mentioned that the discussions will center around forming a government in Maharashtra and strategizing for the elections.
Additionally, prior to the meeting with Thackeray, Rahul Gandhi, Kharge, and Sonia Gandhi will hold an internal meeting to discuss their strategies. This gathering marks the first significant assembly of the INDIA bloc parties since the Lok Sabha elections, highlighting the coalition’s efforts to consolidate their position in the state.
