Shivraj Singh Chowhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, denied the existence of an anti-incumbency movement in the state. As the BJP prepared to win the state handily, he expressed gratitude to the populace. With 161 seats, the BJP leads, followed by the Congress (66 seats) and the BSP (2 seats). Chouhan defeated Congress leader Vikram Mastal Sharma, who managed to get only 59,977 votes.
