The BJP launched scathing attacks on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal shortly after the Supreme Court granted him bail in the alleged liquor policy scam case. BJP leader Gaurav Bhatia referred to Kejriwal as a “‘kattar beimaan (‘outright dishonest’)’ Chief Minister” and a “‘bail wala’ CM”, implying he was dishonest and only out on bail.
Bhatia, addressing a press conference, stated that the Supreme Court had “shown a mirror” to Kejriwal once again by granting him conditional bail. He demanded that Kejriwal should resign as per the wishes of the people of Delhi, claiming the CM lacks morality.
The BJP, which had previously called for Kejriwal’s resignation after he was accused of corruption and money laundering by the CBI and ED, reiterated its demand. Bhatia pointed out that Kejriwal had spent six months in jail and was now out on bail, despite previously saying that a politician should resign even if there are allegations against them.
Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva echoed the call for Kejriwal’s resignation, stating that the CM cannot discharge his duties due to the bail conditions. He also mentioned that the court differed on Kejriwal’s plea to declare his arrest by the CBI as illegal.
