Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked on Thursday that there comes a crucial juncture in a country’s developmental journey when all conditions align in its favor. Speaking at the Times Global Business Summit in New Delhi, he highlighted the unprecedented positive sentiment surrounding India’s capabilities and success on the global stage.

Emphasizing India’s status as a welfare state, the Prime Minister stated that the government’s top priority is to enhance the daily lives of the common man and improve their overall quality of life. In a light-hearted dig at opposition parties, he remarked, “this is a time when our critics are at an all-time low.”

Reflecting on the country’s remarkable transformation over the last decade, Modi mentioned the ongoing discussions among development experts about India’s progress. He underlined the unique positive sentiment toward India’s capabilities that was not present in earlier times.

The prime minister recapped his speech from the Red Fort, in which he described the current time as never before seen. He added that this time period is marked by continuous growth, decreasing fiscal deficit, rising exports, diminishing current account deficit, controlled inflation, and concurrent increases in opportunities, income, and reduction of poverty.

The summit’s theme was also mentioned by the prime minister. “This time, the Global Business Summit team stuck to a very important concept. These days, terms like disruption, development, and diversification are often addressed. Everyone in this conversation is in agreement that India’s moment has come,” he stated.
