I’m Not Against Caste Census: DK Shivakumar Denies Kharge’s Claims

Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar denied party President Kharge’s claim that he is against the caste census.

“I didn’t oppose it anywhere. We want a proper caste census in a systematic way, including my own house,” Shivakumar said.

Kharge criticized Shivakumar and said that he and the BJP are against the caste census. Earlier, the BJP pointed out the differences within the Karnataka government on the caste census.

It was reported that Shivakumar was against to release the caste census report. During a debate in Rajya Sabha, Kharge said, “He (Shivakumar) is also opposing, you are also opposing.”

He was reacting to the BJP members mentioning Shivakumar’s reported stand against the release of the caste census report.
