Bollywood actor and Trinamool Congress MP Shatrughan Sinha poked fun at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the publicity surrounding the Ram Mandir. He claimed that after the Pran Pratishtha on January 22, people dropped by to visit the temple.
He made these remarks while addressing a public gathering in Asansol, West Bengal. Sinha also said that the BJP created a big drama even when the temple was not completely built. I was sad about this, he added.
He stressed that after so much publicity in Ayodhya, around 5 lakh people reached there on the first day. At the event, only artists and significant corporate houses were invited. But common people were not invited to the event.
However, just three lakh people arrived there on the second and third days. It then decreased to two lakhs. Currently, 5,000, 10,000, and 20,000 people are visiting the place, he stated. The BJP created so much drama and publicity, the MP said.
The farmers are sitting on the roads. It seems like he’s the publicity minister instead of the prime minister. What is the point of working if all you do is preach? he continued. Responding against the TMC MP, the BJP called him a ‘liar.’
