Former Chief Minister and BJP Central Parliamentary Board member, BS Yediyurappa, stated on Saturday that if Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah does not resign, the Governor may have to take action against him. This statement comes amid allegations of Siddaramaiah’s involvement in irregularities related to the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
Yediyurappa emphasized that this is a critical moment for Siddaramaiah, suggesting that resigning could help him maintain his dignity and honor within the party. He urged the Chief Minister to take moral responsibility and step down voluntarily, warning that failure to do so could lead to intervention by Governor Thaawar Chand Ghelot, who has already issued a show-cause notice regarding the allegations against Siddaramaiah.
During the inaugural ceremony of the BJP and JD(S) “Mysuru Chalo” padyatra, Yediyurappa mentioned that thousands of party workers would participate in the march, which aims to pressure the Congress government over the corruption charges. The controversy has escalated following a complaint that prompted the Governor to consider prosecution against Siddaramaiah, marking a significant challenge for the Chief Minister, who has denied any wrongdoing and framed the allegations as a political attack.
