TDP President and former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu voiced apprehension regarding the current state of affairs in Andhra Pradesh, emphasizing the precarious future of its people. Speaking at the release of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) manifesto, Naidu lamented the decline of the Telugu community, once a formidable force globally, now grappling with the State’s plight.
Highlighting the staggering debt of Rs 13 lakh crore, Naidu criticized the mismanagement leading to backwardness across sectors over the past five years. He underscored widespread insecurity, unrest, and alarming rates of suicides and atrocities, painting a grim picture of societal distress.
Naidu condemned the neglect of crucial projects like river interlinking and the Polavaram project, coupled with the deterioration of Amaravati, once a hub of opportunity and prosperity. He expressed grave concern over the diversion of funds meant for marginalized communities, scrapping of welfare schemes, and rampant land grabbing under the Land Titling Act, amounting to a loss of Rs 8 lakh crore.
The TDP leader questioned the reduction of BC reservations in local bodies, citing the tragic toll of spurious liquor and the protection of criminals, including those involved in the murder of YS Vivekananda Reddy. Urging voters to support the NDA, Naidu emphasized the need to steer Andhra Pradesh towards prosperity and justice.
He outlined the NDA’s comprehensive manifesto, featuring promises of job creation, financial assistance for farmers, gas subsidies, water access, and Amaravati’s development. Naidu pledged to diligently implement these schemes, working towards the State’s revival with support from the NDA government at the Centre.
