Cannot Imagine INDIA Bloc Without Mamataji: Jairam Ramesh

After Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee’s announcement, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said today that they cannot imagine the INDIA bloc without Mamataji. This comes minutes after the Bengal CM announced that her TMC would contest the April/May Lok Sabha poll in Bengal on its own, ending all hopes of a seat-sharing deal.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh also said that TMC is an important pillar of the INDIA alliance. Ramesh’s firefighting efforts also included an outreach over Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which is due to enter Bengal Thursday but skip state capital Kolkata, and Banerjee, who expressed displeasure because the Congress did not have the courtesy to inform me (they are coming to my state).

The congress spokesperson further stated, “Rahul Gandhi has clearly said Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool are very strong pillars of the INDIA alliance. We cannot imagine the INDIA alliance without Mamataji.” You haven’t heard Mamata Banarjee’s entire statement. Her entire argument is that we want to beat the BJP, and we won’t give up on our goal of doing so. We are approaching West Bengal with the same sentiment, Jairam Ramesh further mentioned.
