Knowing that the BJP government in the state is no longer in power, the Congress intends to meet with the governor of Haryana on Friday. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh announced the update.
After several days of political unrest, Jairam Ramesh asserted that the president’s rule should be implemented in Haryana as the government has lost its majority.
He asserted that he believes that, with the three independent MLAs withdrawing their support, the Haryana government will obviously lose its majority. He further said that this horse-trading that the BJP will do is the ‘Operation Lotus’ that they will do.
For the past ten years, they have been engaging in this behavior in several political parties. However, it is evident that the BJP’s time in Haryana is running out, said Jairam Ramesh.
The withdrawal of three independent MLAs from the Nayab Saini administration on May 7 struck a severe blow to the Haryana government, bringing the coalition below the majority threshold.
Randhir Golan of Pundri, Dharmpal Gonder of Nilokheri, and Sombir Singh Sangwan of Charkhi Dadri were the three MLAs. They all made the decision to back Congress.
However, the BJP seemed certain to hold onto power, as evidenced by the former chief minister’s claims that his party was in contact with a number of Congress and JJP politicians.
The BJP has 39 Members of Legislative Assemblies (MLAs) in the House of 90. The Congress has 30, the Jan Nayak Janata Party has 10, the Haryana Lokhit Party (HLP) has one, the Indian National Lok Dal has one, and there are seven independents.
