“There’s a lot of time for it. We need to see the decisions on player retention, etc. Once the rules are formalized, I will take a call in the best interest of the team,” Dhoni stated at a promotional event in Hyderabad.
After meeting with all franchise owners in Mumbai, BCCI secretary Jay Shah stated there was constructive dialogue on various subjects, and the recommendations will be taken to the IPL Governing Council for further deliberation and evaluation.
Dhoni, who captained India to the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup triumphs, named Jasprit Bumrah as his favorite Indian bowler. Bumrah was the Player of the Tournament in India’s T20 World Cup triumph in June, taking 15 wickets in eight matches at an economy rate of 4.17.
Dhoni expressed his preference for Jasprit Bumrah as his favorite bowler, noting, “It’s easy to pick Bumrah as my favorite because he’s exceptional. However, choosing a favorite batsman is challenging due to the number of talented players we have.”
He refrained from naming a favorite batsman, saying, “It’s hard to pick just one, as every batter looks impressive in their own way. But as long as Team India continues to win, I’m happy with whoever scores runs.”
