Tiwari Remarks On Gambhir-Kohli’s Surprising Friendship After Past Conflicts

Former India batter Manoj Tiwari weighed in on the recent BCCI interview featuring star batter Virat Kohli and head coach Gautam Gambhir, stating it “put an end to all the masala.” Tiwari pointed out the surprising turn in their relationship, especially considering their well-documented on-field altercations during IPL matches.

“It’s too early to comment on Gambhir as head coach,” Tiwari said, acknowledging that he has only been on one tour so far. He praised Gambhir’s evolution since stepping away from politics, highlighting his growing friendship with MS Dhoni and the now-amicable relationship with Kohli.

As India prepares for critical ICC events, including the Champions Trophy and the World Test Championship Final, Tiwari noted that these will be significant tests for Gambhir’s leadership. He observed that while Gambhir’s direct approach is beneficial, the focus on results might challenge his coaching style.

“The real test will be how long he can maintain this mindset in a results-oriented environment,” Tiwari commented. He emphasized the importance of a balanced focus on processes alongside results.
