Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train will start operations in phases from Aug 15, 2027, starting with Surat-Bilimora and ending with the full corridor. The 508-km high-speed rail will run at 320 kmph. Full operations are expected to reduce travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to about 2 hr 17 min.
