Thousands Of Devotees Take Holy Bath In Ganga On Occassion Of Mauni Amavasya
Devotees take a sankalp of silence (mauna vrata) to observe spiritual elevation on this day. It is also known that Mauni Amavasya is a very auspicious day to take a holy bath, or'snana' in a holy river, particularly in the Ganga.
Thousands of devotees took bath in the holy river ‘Ganga’ on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya today. Meanwhile, a huge number of people were seen taking a holy bath at the Ganga ghats in Haridwar and Prayagraj.

It is known that every year this Amavasya falls in the month of Magha. On this day, several devotees worship Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva, in addition to their ancestors and predecessors.
The puja rituals of Mauni Amavasya are to first take a holy bath and light a diya with desi ghee in honor of your ancestors and forefathers. After that, devotees can perform Pitru Tarpan and Pitru Puja, and it is considered virtuous to feed and donate to Brahmins. Several devotees can also feed crows, dogs, ants, and cows.
