Varanasi Priest Commits Suicide By Slitting His Throat

A 40-year-old priest from Varanasi, Amit Sharma, died by suicide after performing a 24-hour ritual to Goddess Kali without receiving a vision of the deity. Frustrated, he slit his throat with a cutter in his home’s courtyard. His wife heard his cries for darshan and found him bleeding. Later he was declared dead at the hospital.
