The second phase of the Namma Metro in Bengaluru will begin in 2025. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar spoke at a press conference at the KG Halli metro station in Bengauluru, and he revealed that the Namma Metro would be ready in 2025.
Earlier on Thursday, DK Shivakumar laid the groundwork for the metro tunnel with a giant drilling machine at the KG Halli metro station. There will be 12 stations along the 13.76 km tunnel that runs between Dairy Circle and Nagavara, according to Namma Metro. However, the total length of the route from Kalena Agrahara to Nagavara is 21.26 km.
The Deputy Chief Minister stressed that Phase 2 Reach 6 of the Metro work is progressing well, and the Namma Metro will be thrown open to the public by 2025. He also said at least 9 tunnel drilling machines are functioning currently, and 75% of work is complete on the 12 metro stations.
In fact, the Bengaluru Metro is popularly known as Namma Metro, and it is a rapid transit system. According to sources, Namma Metro is the second-longest operational metro network in India, just behind Delhi Metro.
