The Supreme Court postponed until December 14 the hearing of AAP leader Satyender Jain’s bail request. He was arrested in a money-laundering case. The plea was listed before the bench, comprising Justices Bela M. Trivedi and Satish Chandra Sharma. Senior Advocate AM Singhvi urged the court to adjourn the matter as he had to mention this to the bench led by the chief justice.
The court adjourned the matter with the direction that interim bail granted to Jain will continue till the next date of the hearing. Previously, a two-judge panel consisting of Justices AS Bopanna and Bela M. Trivedi heard part of the case. According to Justice Trivedi, they need to look at these things and the temporary injunction cannot last for too long.
