Delhi Residents Demand Action Over Cows On Roads & Illegal Truck Parking

Residents in Delhi’s Kalkaji Extension are pressing authorities to address serious issues with cows on the road and illegally parked commercial vehicles in their residential area. The Federation of Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) has complained to the Assistant Commissioner of Police about the dangerous conditions, especially given the proximity of a local school.
The RWAs have highlighted the daily problem of a man bringing dozens of cows onto the streets, which not only obstructs traffic but also creates hazards for pedestrians. Additionally, illegally parked trucks block roads, complicating navigation and impeding emergency services, further raising the risk of accidents.
The RWAs have submitted a three-point action plan to the police, calling for the relocation of stray cows to shelters, removal of illegally parked commercial vehicles, and clearing encroachments by hawkers. They report threats from vehicle drivers and lack of police response to their complaints.
This situation echoes a past incident where a man was killed by a bull near a school, underscoring the urgency of the issue. The police have assured the RWAs of support and action to resolve these problems.
