In response to a highly competitive automotive market, Maruti Suzuki has launched the Radiance Edition of the Ignis, aimed at boosting its sales with a fresh appeal. The Radiance Edition is priced between ₹5.49 lakh and ₹8.06 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as an attractive option amidst a slew of market discounts designed to clear unsold inventory. This special edition is available in three variants: Sigma, Zeta, and Alpha. The entry-level Radiance Edition, based on the Sigma variant, starts at ₹5.49 lakh, offering a price reduction of ₹35,000 compared to the standard Sigma. It comes with additional features such as 15-inch steel wheels, a door visor, and chrome elements valued at ₹3,650. Notably, the Radiance Edition is not offered in the Delta variant.
For the Zeta variant, the Radiance Edition is priced between ₹6.96 lakh and ₹7.41 lakh, while the top-spec Alpha variant ranges from ₹7.61 lakh to ₹8.06 lakh. These prices reflect a ₹35,000 discount over their regular counterparts. The Zeta and Alpha variants also include new seat covers, black cushions, door visors, and door cladding, adding accessories worth ₹9,500. Despite the cosmetic upgrades, the Ignis Radiance Edition retains the familiar 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 83 hp and 113 Nm of peak torque. It continues to offer a choice between a 5-speed manual transmission and an automated manual transmission (AMT). The Ignis competes with other hatchbacks in its segment, such as the Hyundai Grand i10, Citroen C3, WagonR, and Swift, with the Radiance Edition aiming to attract buyers seeking style and value in a compact package.
