The CRDA will reissue tenders for the ‘Happynest’ housing project in Amaravati, with an estimated cost of Rs. 930 crore. The project will feature 1,200 flats distributed across 12 towers under the G+18 scheme.
Although bookings for Happynest were completed in 2018, the project was neglected during the previous YSRCP government. The current NDA government has decided to honor the 2018 bookings at the original prices.
Amaravati, the proposed capital of Andhra Pradesh, is located in the Guntur district along the Krishna River. It was chosen as the capital following the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and the creation of Telangana in 2014.
The capital city’s master plan, designed by Norman Foster and the Foster + Partners team, includes government buildings, residential areas, commercial spaces, and green zones.
The city is being developed in phases, with significant infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and public transport systems underway. The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) oversees the development process.
Amaravati aims to boost economic growth and attract investments, providing a new administrative and political center for the state. However, development has faced challenges, including political shifts and financial constraints.
