They said that ducks raised in wards 1 and 3 of Edathva Grama Panchayat and Cheruthana Grama Panchayat, respectively, had been found to have bird flu. After samples of the ducks exhibiting bird flu symptoms were sent to a lab in Bhopal for analysis, the disease was officially identified. The results of the samples’ avian influenza (H5N1) test were verified by a district administration representative.
In this case, as per the Government of India’s action plan, it was determined at a meeting presided over by the District Collector to begin the process of killing and destroying (culling) domestic birds within a kilometer of the epicenter. The Animal Welfare Department will promptly assemble a Rapid Action Force and finish any necessary preparations, according to the official. According to the district administration, there is no reason to become overly alarmed because there is no chance that the illness will spread to people.
