After intense rains, the Chennai neighborhood of Arumbakkam is still submerged in water. The Airport to Anna Salai and ECR Green Corridors are kept up and suggested for use in case of emergency. The water release from Puzhal Lake has caused traffic to be closed on the Manjambakkam to Vadaperumbakkam Road. Out of Anbu Nagar, fifteen individuals were saved. Six individuals were pulled from their flooded West Mambalam home, two of them elderly and the other two children. Eight individuals—one of whom was a woman—were taken from Ram Nagar and placed in a shelter. After the bus became stranded in the rain, 22 people—two of whom were women—were saved and sent to a school. From Bethel Nagar, sixty individuals were saved, and they were brought to government buildings and schools. Fifty individuals were saved from Mettukuppam. Thirty individuals were saved from Nehru Nagar.
