Bangladesh have won the toss and have opted to field against India in the first Test. The match will begin at 9:30 AM at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
India has a strong record, having not lost a single Test series at home in the last 12 years. Bangladesh is riding high after their recent Test victory against Pakistan and is confident in their ability to compete against India.
Bangladesh’s playing XI: Shadman Islam, Zakir Hasan, Najmul Hossain (captain), Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, and Nahid Rana.
Interestingly, Rishabh Pant has returned to the Indian Test squad and is playing his first Test after a gap of 632 days.
Along with Pant, Virat Kohli too makes a return to the Test side as he missed the India vs. England Test series due to personal issues, and star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah too makes a return to the Test squad.
