The Regional Metererological Centre predicted light rains in several districts of Telangana for the next 24 hours. The IMD also predicted gusty winds would blow at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour.
Rainfall with Thunderstorms and lightning will be predicted in Jagityal, Janagam, Bhupalapalli, Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Manchyryala, Mulugu, Nagarkurnool, Nizamabad, Nirmal, Peddapalli, Sirisilla, Warangal and Hanumakonda districts for the next 24 hours.
K Nagaratna, who is the top official of India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that India received ample rainfall until now. The IMD official said that the normal annual rainfall of the state is about 919 mm and the southwest monsoon alone contributes 80% of annual rainfall, which is 738.6 mm.
Telangana state has received ‘normal’ rainfall this monsoon so far, and it is 27% above the average rainfall. In fact, Telangana has recorded 461.1 mm rainfall for the period between June 1 and July 31 and it surpassing the average of 364.5 mm of rainfall.
Hyderabad was recorded at 294.6 mm of rainfall against the average of 282.3 mm. Meanwhile, the lowest rainfall in the city was recorded at Trimulgherry at 202.4 mm against 288.9 mm, and Ameerpet at 237.5 mm against 295.8 mm.
