High Court Stops Director Ram Gopal Verma’s ‘Vyooham’ Movie Release
Meanwhile, the Telanagna high court scrapped the censor certificate for the film and also directed the Central Board of Film Certification to review the movie once again and submit a report within 3 weeks.
The High Court of Telangana today stopped the release of sensational Tollywood director Ram Gopal Varma’s latest ‘Vyooham’ movie. According to sources, RGV’s latest film is reportedly based on the political situation in Andhra Pradesh. In this regard, the single judge bench of the High Court has extended the suspension for another 3 weeks.
Meanwhile, the Telanagna high court scrapped the censor certificate for the film and also directed the Central Board of Film Certification to review the movie once again and submit a report within 3 weeks. Earlier, on January 11, 2024, the court reserved orders on the petition by producer Dasari Kiran Kumar, who pleaded for vacating the interim order suspending the release of the movie in theaters.
Firstly, the movie was stopped after the counsel of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) General Secretary Nara Lokesh raised an objection. The film, which is defamatory towards former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, was scheduled to release on December 29, 2023. However, Naidu’s son, Nara Lokesh, had approached the Telangana High Court, and he challenged the censorship certificate for the movie.
