HC Places Medigadda Probe PIL On Hold For Examining
The Telangana High Court has placed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that requested a transfer of the criminal matter to the CBI or SFIO over the submergence of pillars of the Meddigadda barrage on hold for further examination. The Telangana High Court has placed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that requested a transfer of the criminal matter to the CBI or SFIO over the submergence of pillars of the Meddigadda barrage on hold for further examination. First, the court wanted to hear how the petitioner’s complaint was progressing. It refused to assign a number to the December 8 PIL that Congress leader Niranjan had filed. On October 22, the Mahadevapur police station in the Bhupalpally district received a criminal case regarding the event. Tera Rajnikanth Reddy, the additional advocate general, was instructed by the division bench consisting of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Anil Kumar Jukanti to inquire of the government within a fortnight on any measures taken regarding the complaint.
In an effort to have the matter looked into, Niranjan wrote to the President, the Union of India, the Governor, the Center, and the Indian Election Commission. The Chief Secretary received a letter dated November 7 with the complaint, according to an email response from the ECI. He then requested that the state government order a CBI/SFIO investigation by filing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the High Court. Chief Justice Aradhe sent a series of questions to Niranjan’s attorney on Tuesday, asking them to cite whatever legal provision the petitioner had used to file a complaint with the ECI and other parties when the matter concerned a dam’s safety. “The duty of the ECI is to conduct free and fair elections; it has nothing to do with the safety of the dam,” the Court of Appeal said. In addition, the court expressed reservations about the sincerity of the PIL’s intentions and questioned how the President of India could take action.
