Andhra Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Daggubati Purandeswari visited the prestigious Srisailam temple in the Nandyal district of AP today. On the occasion of Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya Ram Temple, Purandeswari today offered special prayers at Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple.
Meanwhile, the AP BJP chief has officially been accorded a traditional welcome by the temple officials. Purandheswari also visited the Shivaji Spurthi Kendra in Srisailam and paid a floral homage to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It is known that the Pran Pratishtha ceremony performed by PM Modi for the main idol of Lord Ram Lalla was completed in Ayodhya.
In Srisailam temple, Lord Shiva is worshiped as Mallikarjuna and is represented by the lingam, and his consort Parvati is depicted as Goddess Bhramaramba. According to Hindu mythology, Shiva is referred to as one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India, and Goddess Bramarambha’s shrine is referred to as one of the fifty-two Shakti peethas. In Srisailam, the Krishna River is called Patal Ganga. One has to go down 852 stairs to reach the river, and the Shiva Linga is bathed in the water of this river.
