PM Modi stressed that Narasimha Rao is always remembered for his service as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Union Minister, and as a Member of Parliament for many years.
In a big honor to the telugu Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao, the central government declared that the former late PM PV Narasimha Rao will be conferred with Bharat Ratna. In this regard, Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed today that Narasimha Rao will be conferred with the country’s highest civilian award, i.e., Bharat Ratna.
PM Modi shared a post on ‘X’ and stressed that ex-PM PV Narasimha Rao is a distinguished scholar and statesman. However, Narasimha Rao also served the nation in various positions. PM Modi also said that Narasimha Rao is also remembered for his service as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Union Minister, and as a Member of Parliament for many years.
Former PM Narasimha Rao was born on June 28, 1921, in the Karimnagar district of Telangana. Narasimha Rao, being an agriculturist and an advocate, joined politics. He served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 1971–73 and General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee from 1975–76.
The former PM is also credited with bringing many economic reforms to the country, popularly known as dismantling the License Raj in the country. Narasimha Rao was a six-time MP and passed away in 2004 at the age of 83.
