The reputed Akasa Air has emerged as the most punctual carrier at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad in December 2023. Meanwhile, Akasa Air has claimed the top spot as the most punctual carrier, boasting an impressive on-time performance of 80.2%. However, SpiceJet finds itself at the lower end of the spectrum, with an OTP of 36.9%.
According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) report, Akasa Air was the most punctual airline in India for the second consecutive month in December 2023. The airline flew 62.32 lakh passengers, with a market share of 4.1%. Akasa Air also had the top punctuality rating in Bangalore, with an OTP of 83.9%.
In addition to that, the DGCA report provided a comprehensive overview of the on-time performance of scheduled domestic carriers operating at RGIA. Air India secured a 56.5% on-time performance, while Alliance Air followed closely behind with 50%.
It is known that Akasa Air, a brand of SNV Aviation Private Limited, is an Indian low-cost airline headquartered in Mumbai. It was founded by Vinay Dube and Aditya Ghosh, with investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala holding a 46% stake in the airline.
