Buddha’s Sacred Relics: Bodh Gaya Conducts Auspicious ‘Shobha Yatra’

An auspicious grand ‘Shobha Yatra’ was conducted in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, on Saturday, February 3. The shobha yatra features the sacred relics of the Buddha and his two disciples, Sariputta and Maha Moggallana.
Several Buddhist monks were joined in the grand procession in Bodh Gaya. A huge number of devotees joined in the yatra, not only from India but also from Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Tibet, Thailand, Vietnam, Nepal, and many other countries.
Meanwhile, the relics of Lord Buddha and his disciples were placed on a chariot, which made it the focal point of the procession. However, the ‘Shobha Yatra’ has garnered special attention for its cultural diversity and spiritual significance. The Sri Lankan artist’s team particularly captured the audience at this event.
Simultaneously, the Maha Bodhi Society is also gearing up to celebrate the 17th foundation day of Jai Shri Maha Bodhi Vihar. The secretary of the Mahabodhi Society, Bhante Shivli Thero, highlighted that the relics have been securely preserved at Jai Shri Maha Bodhi Vihar for years.
